John McCamman Named Acting Director for California Department of Fish and Game

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Secretary for Resources Mike Chrisman today announced theappointment of John McCamman as Acting Director of California'sDepartment of Fish and Game (DFG). McCamman has been DFG's chiefdeputy director and replaces Ryan Broddrick whose resignation waseffective today. Secretary Chrisman also announced that a nationalsearch is under way to find a permanent director.

"John is a solid choice to keep the department moving forward. Hisyears of experience in the resources arena and his very successfultime at DFG commend him to this acting position," Chrisman said."He'll do a great job of guiding DFG's critical mission and be aninvaluable asset to the Resources Agency family during this time oftransition."

Prior to joining DFG, McCamman served as the chief of staff toCalifornia Congressman George Radanovich (R-Mariposa) for nine yearsin Washington, D.C. McCamman was involved in federal resources issuesfor Radanovich who sat on the House Resources Committee. McCamman hasmore than 15 years of experience as a local government administrator,including over seven years as county administrator in Mariposa andShasta counties.

McCamman holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science andPhilosophy from University of California, Santa Barbara and a Master'sin Public Administration from California State University, Sonoma.
