MTS Mobility Brings Location-Based Services to Wireless Customers
Convenient and easy-to-use Seek & Find(R), GoTrax(R) and No. TAXI(R) keep customers connected

WINNIPEG, Nov. 21 /CNW/ - MTS Allstream Inc. ("MTS Allstream") is proudto introduce the launch of three new location-based services, known as LocateServices, which are available exclusively to MTS Mobility wireless customers.Through the combination of wireless and Internet technology, MTS Allstream nowoffers the ability to determine the location of a wireless device viaapplications that offer increased security and convenience."Families, individuals and business owners need the right tools to tacklethe challenges of today's hectic lifestyles," said Stan Kurtas, Vice-PresidentMarketing, Consumer Markets, MTS Allstream. The Seek & Find(R) service provides peace of mind for today's busyparents or caregivers by allowing subscribers to locate family and friends byviewing the location of their wireless device in "real-time" from an Internetconnection. Features include the ability to set up landmarks and receiveregular location alerts based on daily routines, such as arrivals from work orschool.
The GoTrax(R) service is a Web-based business application that allowscustomers to locate their mobile employees in "real-time" on an interactivemap from a desktop or laptop computer. Simple to use, the GoTrax service canbe added as a feature to customers' wireless accounts. With this service,employees can be dispatched more quickly, response times can be improved, andfleets can be better managed.
By dialing No. TAXI (No. 8294) from their wireless device, customers canautomatically and easily order a taxi cab. The No. TAXI(R) service uses thelocation of the wireless device to help determine all available cab companiesable to serve the caller, and then makes the connection. In Manitoba, No. TAXIis currently available in Winnipeg, Brandon, Steinbach, Selkirk, Dauphin andThe Pas, as well as in most cities across Canada where taxi service isavailable.
These Locate Services use assisted global positioning satellite ("AGPS")technology by combining the accuracy of GPS and code division multiple accessnetwork technology ("CDMA") to determine locations. These services areavailable to customers with AGPS-enabled devices within MTS Mobility 1x and1xEV-DO coverage areas. Service is also available when roaming within Canadawhere coverage exists.
