Starbucks Stores to Open in A&Ps

MONTVALE, N.J. (AP) -- The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. said Thursday it signed an agreement to operate Starbucks coffee shops in some of its A&P grocery stores in the Northeast.

Financial terms were undisclosed.

The stores will initially begin opening in New Jersey in November.

The Starbucks stores will offer a full beverage menu and baked goods.

Great Atlantic shares fell 21 cents to $30.37 in morning trading.

Starbucks shares fell 7 cents to $27.41.
