Omniture Posts Narrower 3Q Loss

The company posted a loss of $1.1 million, or 2 cents per share, compared with a loss of $1.3 million, or 3 cents per share, in the same period a year earlier. Adjusted earnings were 7 cents per share in the latest quarter, excluding stock options costs, the amortization of intangible assets and other items.

Revenue rose 78 percent to $37.4 million from $21 million. Adjusted revenue was $37.8 million in the latest quarter.

Analysts, on average, expected a profit of 5 cents per share on revenue of $37.2 million, according to a poll by Thomson Financial.

Operating costs rose 88 percent to $26.8 million from $14.2 million as research, marketing and administrative costs increased.

Shares fell $4.13, or 11.2 percent, to $32.68 in after-hours electronic trading. The stock had closed up 7 cents at $36.81 in the regular session. Shares have ranged from $8.88 to $38.57 over the past year.
