Devon Energy Executive Exercises Options

NEW YORK (AP) -- A senior vice president of oil and gas producer Devon Energy Corp. exercised options for 8,500 shares of common stock, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

In a Form 4 filed with the SEC Tuesday, Darryl Smette reported he exercised the options Monday for $14.56 to $15.47 apiece and then sold them all the same day for $86.95 apiece.

Insiders file Form 4s with the SEC to report transactions in their companies' shares. Open market purchases and sales must be reported within two business days of the transaction.

Devon is based in Oklahoma City.
