Crane Chief Financial Officer Resigns

STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Diversified manufacturer Crane Co. said Wednesday its vice president and chief financial officer, J. Robert Vipond, has resigned to pursue other interests.

The company said it has begun an external search for a new CFO. In the meantime, President and Chief Executive Eric C. Fast will serve as interim CFO.

Crane shares dropped 94 cents to $43 in afternoon trading.
