Owens Corning Sells Siding Business

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- Owens Corning, the building materials maker famous for its pink fiberglass insulation, said Friday it completed a $371 million sale of its siding business to French glass giant Cie. de Saint-Gobain.

The sale, announced in July, includes Owens Corning's Norandex/Reynolds distribution business and vinyl siding manufacturing plants in Claremont, N.C., Joplin, Mo., and London, Ontario. Norandex/Reynolds operates 153 distribution centers in 38 states.

The company said the sale was part of its effort to focus on core businesses.
