Anthracite Capital Names New Chairman

Anthracite is externally managed by money-management firm BlackRock. Four of Anthracite's seven directors have no affiliation with either company.
Carl F. Geuther was named chairman of Anthracite, effective immediately. He has been a director of the company since 1998 and is a former executive of mortgage banking company WMC Mortgage Corp.
Anthracite also named its chief executive, Christopher A. Milner, as a director. He has been CEO since 2004 and is a managing director of BlackRock.
Anthracite shares fell 13 cents to $7.69 in early trading.
